The Bloomingdale Chamber OffersTwo Scholarship Types!

The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce, along with contributions from several area businesses, will award scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 to graduating high school, current college (freshman through junior years), or current technical school students.   

Also, money is being set aside for a Trade School Scholarship for students enrolling in a trade school or certification program such as cosmetology, car mechanics, HVAC, etc.

College Scholarship applicants must be planning to continue their education on a full-time basis at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or 2-year college in the United States to be eligible. 

  1. High school graduating senior or continuing post-secondary school student (freshmen through junior years).
  2. You must be a full-time student (i.e., minimum of 12 quarter hours or 15 semester hours).
  3. Academic Merit (must have 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA to be considered)
Trade School Scholarship applicants must be planning to continue their education at an accredited vocational/technical or trade school, such as but not limited to: Technology of DuPage, cosmetology, car mechanics, HVAC or other certification in a trade to be eligible.

  • High school graduating senior or continuing vocational/technical student.
  • Academic Merit (must have a 2.0 out of 4.0 GPA to be considered) 
All applicants must fall into one of the following categories:

  • A Chamber member employee (or their immediate family member)          OR
  • A Resident of Bloomingdale 
Scholarships must be used within the first semester of being awarded. The award check will be payable to the student upon verification of enrollment through the school.

A committee from the general membership of the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce will evaluate applications based on the established criteria. Recommendations from this committee will be tabulated to determine the winners.
