North Central College has maintained its position as the top-ranked football team in the nation, according to recent national polls. Rankings released by D3football.com on Sunday and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) on Monday both placed North Central at number one.

The Cardinals remain the unanimous number one team in the AFCA poll. In the D3football.com poll, North Central received 24 out of 25 first-place votes, earning a total of 624 points. The team holds an overall record of 7-0 and is 6-0 in conference play after defeating Augustana with a score of 76-14 on Saturday.

Wheaton College also saw movement in the rankings, advancing to number 19 in the D3football.com poll and to number 20 in the coaches’ poll. The Thunder secured a 28-24 win over WashU at McCully Stadium last Saturday.
