Cook County alcohol servers have been put on notice. The new training law for servers in the county takes effect on July 1. The state is hosting a free training session for all county alcohol servers. The new law requires all alcohol servers and bouncers in Cook County bars and restaurants to complete a four-hour Beverage Alcohol Sellers/Servers Education & Training (BASSET) class by July 1, or within 120 days of being hired after July 1.
