Westmont public meeting set for May 27 to discuss St. Joseph Creek project

Westmont

Village of Westmont, Illinois, residents will have the opportunity to discuss the current status of the St. Joseph Creek Stabilization Project during a public meeting next week.

The meeting is slated for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Village Hall, located at 31 W. Quincy St.

During the meeting, an update regarding the project will be presented, as well as a time for residents to ask questions.

The current phase of the St. Joseph Creek Streambank Stabilization Project began this past March with the clearing of vegetation.

Work will continue, as weather permits, along both sides of the creek between Oliver and Elwood courts. Streambank work will include the installation of erosion and sedimentation controls, stone toes, gabion baskets and native plantings.

Those unable to attend the meeting who have questions should contact Noriel Noriega at nnoriega@westmont.il.gov or 630-981-6295.
