GLEN ELLYN PARK DISTRICT: Celebrate Autumn at the Pumpkin Flotilla Fest

Pumpkin

Glen Ellyn Park District issued the following announcement on Oct. 7.

The Pumpkin Flotilla Fest is a one-of-a-kind annual fall festival in Glen Ellyn; this year’s event takes place on October 20th. The flotilla is comprised of pumpkins carved by members of the community. When the pumpkins are floated on Lake Ellyn, it creates a wonderful glowing spectacle.

The festival runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and features a variety of events and activities including a performance by Jeanie B! and the Jelly Beans, a giant pumpkin carving demonstration, trackless train rides, bounce houses, canoe rides, and the illuminated Pumpkin Flotilla on the lake at dusk. Food and beverages will be available for purchase in the Boathouse, courtesy of the Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn.

Attendance and participation in the Pumpkin Flotilla are free, but online registration is required to submit a pumpkin to be set out on the lake. A limited number of pumpkins will also be available to purchase and carve at the event for $5.

For more information about this event, contact Jeannie Robinson at jrobinson@gepark.org or (630) 942-7267.
