State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro has expressed her disapproval of Governor Pritzker's recent budget address, calling it out for what she sees as false promises and misaligned priorities. In a statement released following the State of the State Address on February 21st, Rep. Sanalitro criticized the Governor's portrayal of stability and progress under his leadership.

Sanalitro stated, "Governor Pritzker’s budget address was filled with false hope, inappropriate political rhetoric, and misaligned priorities. He claims that under his leadership he has brought us stability and progress. Unfortunately this portrayal is far from the truth."

She went on to highlight concerns within her district, mentioning higher living costs, safety issues in neighborhoods, and the growing unease over an influx of migrants and undocumented immigrants. Sanalitro specifically pointed out the impact of Illinois' sanctuary state status, attributing it to the inflow of migrants and the resulting strain on taxpayer funds and local resources.

According to the State Representative, Illinois has spent approximately $2.8 billion on migrants and undocumented residents for necessities like shelter, food, and healthcare. She emphasized her commitment to addressing the real issues affecting her district and advocating for the needs of its residents. Sanalitro affirmed, "I will continue working to find solutions for the real issues impacting my district and highlighting the concerns of my neighbors for as long as I serve in the state house."
