Q3 2022 Recap: 2 parolees from Dupage County convicted of sex crimes set for release

There were two offenders convicted of sex crimes living in Dupage County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 37. The younger parolee was a 33-year-old man sentenced in 2013, and the oldest was a 41-year-old man sentenced in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jose M. Mendoza-Maceda. He was convicted in 2013 when he was 23 years old. He is now 33.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
