Q1 2022 Recap: 2 parolees from Dupage County convicted of crimes against justice set for release

There were two offenders convicted of crimes against justice living in Dupage County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 37. The younger parolee was a 34-year-old man sentenced in 2022, and the oldest was a 39-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jimmy R. Mojica. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 37 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of crimes against justice were paroled during the first quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
