Q4 2021 Recap: 12 parolees from Kane County convicted of crimes against persons set for release

There were 12 offenders convicted of crimes against persons living in Kane County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows nine men and three women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons was 36. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2020, and the oldest was a 45-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Kristian Branch. She was convicted in 2011 when she was 29 years old. She is now 41.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of crimes against persons were paroled during the fourth quarter of 2021 in each Illinois county.
