There were 64 offenders living in Kane County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows 57 men and seven women were released in Kane County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 35. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2021, and the oldest was a 65-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2019.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Singletary P. Jahneria. She was convicted of homicide in 2004 when she was 27 years old. She is now 46.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
