House Republican Majority has issued the following press release:

Glen Ellyn, IL- Today, Stefanie Hood, candidate for State Representative in the 42nd House District, announced endorsements from former State Senator Michael Connelly and former Illinois Lieutenant Governor and current DuPage County Clerk Candidate, Evelyn Pacino Sanguinetti.

“I have known Stefanie for ten years. Her balanced common-sense approach to solving problems is greatly needed in Springfield. To that end, I am excited that my friend Stefanie Hood is running for State Representative. She has my full endorsement and support,” said Connelly, State Senator of the 21st District from 2013-2018.

“Just as I was the first Hispanic Republican Constitutional Officer in the State of Illinois, Stefanie Linares Hood will be the only Hispanic Republican serving in the Illinois House when elected. Stefanie has blazed trails her whole life, and I am confident that she will help set Illinois on a new and better path for families,” said Sanguinetti.

“I am honored to have the support of leaders like former Senator Connelly and Evelyn Sanguinetti,” said Hood. “DuPage families deserve a safe and affordable place to live, and we can help restore that security at the ballot box this November.”

With hard-working parents who stressed the importance of having a strong education and work ethic, Stefanie Hood used these lessons to become the first in her family to graduate college. She often worked multiple jobs to support herself while also attending college full-time and throughout law school. Stefanie is now an attorney with a passion for being involved in her community, from tutoring and mentoring elementary school students to helping families cope with mental illness. She serves on the Board of Commissioners for the DuPage Housing Authority, the National Alliance on Mental Illness DuPage, and the 708 Community Mental Health Board. Stefanie and her husband reside in Glen Ellyn with their two children.
