One scam report was filed in Downers Grove for the week ending June 27, 2026, according to Better Business Bureau.

No scam reports were listed for the city in the prior week.

Reported losses for the week totaled $135 across the single report that included a dollar amount.

The largest reported loss was $135 from an online purchase scam. The seller claims 30-day returns “if approved”. It claims to be out of Nashville. Buyers were required to send returns to China at their own expense with tracking. Nowhere on the website does it say it will come from China or need to get returned back to China.

Fraud reports have continued to carry large financial losses nationwide. The Federal Trade Commission said consumers reported losing more than $12.5 billion to fraud in 2024, a 25% increase from the previous year.
