The Wheaton Police Department released its weekly arrest and crime report for the period of June 15 through June 21, according to a July 7 statement.

The department also reported several crimes: thefts occurred in the area including one involving a package taken from a mailbox in the block of Darling St., medication bottles removed from an unattended purse at Jewel grocery store on North Main St., as well as an identity theft case where an unknown person accessed a victim's bank account to make fraudulent transactions along Roosevelt Rd.

Residents are encouraged to use Anonymous Crime Tips (ACT) if they have information about these or other crimes. The program allows tips to be sent securely by text or email without revealing the sender’s identity. More information is available through the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department website.

The Wheaton Police Department cautioned that all complaints listed contain only charges and are not proof of guilt: "Constitutionally, a defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt," the department said. The department also noted that initial police reports may change as investigations proceed.
