Roselle Officials Visit Springfield to Discuss Local Issues
Mayor David Pileski and Village Administrator Jason Bielawski traveled to Springfield this week as part of a delegation from the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference.
Delegation members were at the State Capitol to lobby legislators and discuss issues of importance to municipalities and their residents, in particular the proposed railroad merger, restoration of Local Government Distributive Fund levels, and funding for important infrastructure projects.
"We want to stress to our elected officials in Springfield that the time has come to restore municipalities share of the Local Government Distributive Fund," said Mayor Pileski. "Additionally, we are encouraging legislators to sign on as supporters of the Stop CPKC Coalition opposing the rail merger on the Milwaukee District West line, and to help provide funding for critical infrastructure improvements needed in Roselle over the next decade."
Watch Roselle Minute Episode 2: The One With the Police Counselors
Behavioral health counseling and crisis intervention are some of the many services provided to the community by the Roselle Police Department. Back in 2019, the Roselle Police Department hired a contractual mental health counselor for 20 hours a week. It quickly became apparent that more of these services were needed in the community, so in 2020 and in 2021, contractual hours were increased to 40, then 60 hours a week.
In 2022, there are now two full-time mental health counselors on staff at the Police Department, which has been made possible with several grants from the Bloomingdale Township Mental Health Board. Meet Colleen Martinez and Michelle Koso, and learn about the important work they do in Roselle Minute Episode 2: The One WIth the Police Counselors.

Join the Village of Roselle and its community and business partners for the Roselle Manufacturing Meetup on April 29 at Electri-Flex, 236 Central Ave., Roselle from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Guest speakers from several community partners will highlight resources and opportunities for manufacturing businesses to develop their existing workforce, recruit new employees, and fund projects to grow and sustain their operations.

COVID-19 Business Reimbursement Grants and Business Resiliency Grants will offer Roselle businesses up to $10,000 in funding, subject to 50-50 cost sharing, for approved projects. Attend to learn more about these funding opportunities, which will be made available through a new grant management platform on the Village's website beginning in April 2022.
The session will begin with networking from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m., with appetizers and drinks from Roselle-based Italian Pizza Kitchen, Lynfred Winery, and Pollyanna Brewing Company.
