City of Wood Dale City Council Met March 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

I. CALL TO ORDER REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING (via Zoom teleconference) in accordance Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order regarding COVID-19:

Mayor Nunzio Pulice, in accordance with the Meeting Notice for a Zoom Teleconference Meeting, called the Regular City Council Meeting to Order at 7:30 p.m. Pursuant to the updated Illinois Attorney General Guidance to Public Bodies on the Open Meetings Act during the COVID-19 Pandemic, dated July 2, 2020, Aldermen and Elected Officials of the City of Wood Dale may participate in Public Meetings of the City without being physically present, in compliance with the established conditions.

II. ROLL CALL

Upon roll call, the following were:

Present: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, E. Wesley and Woods

Absent: Aldermen Susmarski and R. Wesley. Alderman Susmarski joined the Executive Session.

Also Present: Mayor Pulice, City Clerk Curiale, Treasurer Porch, City Manager Mermuys, Police Chief Vesta, Legal Counsel Bond, Finance Director Wilson, Public Works Director Lange, AICP/CD Director Cage,

Whereupon the Mayor declared a quorum present.

III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A. Alderman Messina made a motion, seconded by Alderman Sorrentino, to approve the Special Council Meeting Minutes of February 11, 2021. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results: 

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino and Woods 

Abstain: Alderman E. Wesley

Nays: None

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

B. Alderman Sorrentino made a motion, seconded by Alderman Jakab, to approve the Regular Council Meeting Minutes of February 18, 2021. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results: 

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino and Woods 

Abstain: Alderman E. Wesley

Nays: None

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

V. COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS

i. Citizens to be Heard

ii. Written Communiqués of Citizens to Be Heard

a. Mayor Pulice received a letter from Jennifer Licona, President of the Wood Dale Historical Society thanking the City of Wood Dale for its continuous support for the Wood Dale Historical Society and Yesterdays Farm Museum, including financial support, labor, plowing, and community service assistance. Due to Covid-19 and concerns for the community, all events and tours were cancelled, however necessary improvement projects to preserve these historical buildings for future generations continued to be done. As a result of the loss of revenue generating events, The Wood Dale Historical Society asked for Covid-19 Relief from The City to help get the Barn Roof underway within the next couple of months. Mayor Pulice asked for this to be put on the Finance Agenda next week.

VI. MAYOR’S REPORT

i. The Wood Dale Public Library will not be a Polling Place for the April 6, 2021, Consolidated Election, due to construction. Updates will follow.

VII. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

i. City Manager Mermuys reminded those who had their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at Fenton High School Vaccination Event on February 13, will get their second dose this Saturday, March 6 at the same appointment time as their first dose.

i. A Resolution Authorizing the Approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Wood Dale and the Village of Itasca for the Resurfacing, Reconstruction, and Maintenance of Certain Sections of George Street

On a motion by Alderman Catalano, seconded by Alderman Jakab, to approve A Resolution Authorizing the Approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Wood Dale and the Village of Itasca for the Resurfacing, Reconstruction, and Maintenance of Certain Sections of George Street.

Director Lange stated additional infrastructure will be added to allow Residents to hook up to the existing City storm sewer system.

When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results: 

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, E. Wesley and Woods 

Nays: None

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

B. Stormwater Commission Report:

Alderman E. Wesley stated there was no report, but the next meeting has been scheduled.

XI. APPROVAL OF LIST OF BILLS: March 4, 2021 - - $576,133.21 

On a motion by Alderman Woods, seconded by Alderman Sorrentino, to approve the March 4, 2021 payment of the List of Bills, for the total amount of $576,133.21 for the following:

• General Fund $ 155,828.71

• Road & Bridge Fund $ -

• Motor Fuel Tax Fund $ 13,548.86 

• Tourism Fund $ 12,316.59 

• Narcotics Fund $ -

• TIF District #1 $ -

• TIF District #2 $ -

On a motion by Alderman E. Wesley, seconded by Alderman Jakab, to adjourn the Regular Meeting of March 4, 2021 to go to Executive Session to discuss Land Disposition [Pursuant to 5ILCS120/2(c)(6)]. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results:

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, E. Wesley and Woods 

Nays: None

Nays: None

Whereupon the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
