Congressman Dan Crenshaw featured guest at fundraiser in support of Ives

U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) is a featured guest at a fundraiser for congressional candidate Jeanne Ives on Friday, March 13.

Ives, a former state representative who narrowly lost in a challenge to former Gov. Bruce Rauner for the GOP gubernatorial nomination in 2018, is seeking the Republican nomination for Illinois' 6th Congressional District, which includes parts of DuPage, Lake, Kane, McHenry and Cook counties. Democrat Sean Casten currently represents the district. 

The breakfast will be held at Sheraton Suites Chicago O’Hare located at 6501 Mannheim Road in Rosemont. Doors open 7:15 a.m.and the program begins at 7:30 a.m.

The cost is $1,000 for hosts and $500 for attendees.  

"Rep. Dan Crenshaw the Congressman from Texas. Dan served his country as a U.S. Navy SEAL. After graduation from Tufts University," a flyer promoting the event reads. "Dan deployed to Fallujah, Iraq to join SEAL Team Three. On Dan’s 3rd deployment in 2012, he was hit by an IED blast in Afghanistan. His right eye had been destroyed in the blast and his left eye was badly damaged. Dan was completely blind. Dan regained sight in his left eye. Dan was medically retired in 2016 as a Lieutenant Com- mander. He has 2 Bronze Stars (one with Valor), the Purple Heart, and the Navy Commendation Medal with Valor, among others. Dan was elected to Congress in 2018 and serves on the Homeland Security Committee and the Budget Committee."
