2 scam reports in Downers Grove in June involve online purchase and phishing

The Better Business Bureau recorded two scam reports in Downers Grove in June 2026.

No scam reports were listed for the city in the prior month.

One report listed a $135 loss from an online purchase scam. Online purchase and phishing scams each accounted for one report.

BBB Scam Tracker allows consumers to search reported scams and share their own experiences to help others recognize similar schemes. The BBB says it reviews each report before publication and does not publicly display the reporter’s name or personal contact information.

Reports of fraud have continued to involve large financial losses nationwide. The Federal Trade Commission said consumers reported losing more than $12.5 billion to fraud in 2024, a 25% increase from the previous year.
