Schaumburg announces Septemberfest lineup, honors citizens and launches summer initiatives
Schaumburg has announced a series of community updates and events for the week of July 17, including the entertainment lineup for the upcoming Septemberfest, recognition of local citizens, and the launch of several village services and programs.
The Village of Schaumburg revealed that Night Ranger, Warrant, and Max Weinberg's Jukebox will headline the main stage at Septemberfest, scheduled for September 5-7 over Labor Day weekend. Night Ranger will perform on Saturday, September 5, followed by Warrant on Sunday, September 6, and Max Weinberg's Jukebox on Monday, September 7. According to the Village of Schaumburg, "Night Ranger’s music has left a lasting mark on pop culture, from heavy MTV rotation in the 80’s to placements in television, film and video games, and continues to reach new audiences through recent syncs and brand campaigns." Warrant will be followed by a new drone show on Sunday night, and Max Weinberg’s Jukebox will offer an interactive performance where the audience selects songs in real time.
At a recent Village Board meeting, Bill Taylor was presented with the Outstanding Citizen Award for his lifesaving actions during a medical emergency at Dave & Buster's. According to the Village of Schaumburg, "Taylor's immediate response helped restore the employee's breathing before Schaumburg Fire Department personnel arrived, demonstrating extraordinary courage and a commitment to helping others in a time of crisis." Fire Chief Fabio Puccini presented the award, recognizing Taylor’s composure and willingness to act during a critical situation.
The Schaumburg Sister Cities Commission awarded its inaugural scholarships to Abigail House and Jibran Khan, both recent graduates of Township High School District 211. According to the Village of Schaumburg, "The scholarship program was created to encourage Schaumburg high school seniors who demonstrate a passion for global and cultural understanding. Through educational pursuits, language studies, exchange opportunities, athletics, business, and community involvement, recipients embody the mission of the Sister Cities program by building meaningful connections across cultures."
Other village updates include the resumption of the summer brush collection service on July 27, the launch of the 2026–27 Season of Arts & Entertainment at the Al Larson Cultural Center, and a public meeting on July 23 to discuss proposed improvements to Bode Road. The Schaumburg Police Department is increasing speed enforcement efforts throughout July in partnership with state and local agencies, with additional patrols funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Additional programs highlighted this week include the Older Adult Community Market in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, e-bike and e-scooter safety reminders, ongoing restoration work at Gray Farm Marsh Conservation Area, and the 10th anniversary of Brickmania Chicago.
