DuPage GOP fills fall with fundraisers, food events

Food and fundraising will be the focus of several upcoming events put on by the DuPage County Republican Party, according to the group's latest newsletter.

On Sept. 27, DuPage County Board member Pete DiCianni will host a Fall Food Fest featuring dishes from a wide range of Chicago-area eateries. Admission for the event at Elmhurst’s Diplomat West Banquets is $125 per person and includes dinner and an open bar. The fest will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

A fundraiser for County Board member Janice Anderson also is scheduled for Sept. 27 at Lextech Global Services in Downers Grove. The $250 per-person event is slated for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

James Mendrick, candidate for DuPage County sheriff, will host a pig roast fundraiser from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 30 at 2S216 Riverside Ave. in Warrenville. Admission is $25, and those attending are encouraged to bring contributions for the West Suburban Community Food Pantry.

The Milton Township GOP is planning its Oktoberfest Dinner for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 2 at Arrowhead in Wheaton after the group’s annual golf event, while the York Township GOP is hosting its Oktoberfest Fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 7 at the American Legion in Elmhurst.

The DuPage GOP also noted that its own Republican Day Dinner will take place on Oct. 23, and the Downers Grove Township GOP Reagan Day Dinner is set for Nov. 16.
