Lombard announces Aug. 15 parking shifts for paving

As part of municipal work in progress, paving will cause temporary parking closures in the Village of Lombard along Parkside Avenue while crews reapply asphalt between Main and Elizabeth streets, Village officials reminded residents this week.

Constituents may have noticed that the first phase of concrete repair with curbs and parking closures began Aug. 8. Phase 2 will involve work to begin on Monday, Aug. 15. This part of the project will necessitate the short-term closure of all commuter parking stalls.

The Village has arranged to provide alternate parking in the Sacred Heart Church’s parking lot, and signage has already been installed to display in affected zones.

Citizens are prompted to note the construction dates, as any vehicles parking in non-designated areas will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense. Lombard leaders expect the parking to reopen on Aug. 20 based on weather conditions.

Commuters or other drivers with questions may call the Finance Department at 630-620-5700. For construction issues, contact project manager Tom Dixon at 630-620-5740 or dixont@villageoflombard.org. For updates or more information, visit www.villageoflombard.org/asphaltpaving.

The curb and concrete repair over summer 2016 is done in conjunction with the Village of Lombard’s 2016 Asphalt Patching and Paving Program.
