Cubs, White Sox charity softball game set for Boomers Stadium

Past players for the Chicago Cubs and White Sox will play in the Larry A. Pogofsky All-Star Softball Challenge at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg.

Proceeds from the game will benefit local charities.

White Sox players confirmed to attend include Joe Crede, Jon Garland, Freddy Garcia, Jermaine Dye, Carlos Lee, Ray Durham, Scott Podsednik, Carl Everett and Ozzie Guillen. Cubs confirmed to attend include Carlos Zambrano, Jon Lieber, Gary Matthews Jr., Brian McRae, Jerome Walton, Lee Smith, Cliff Floyd and Corey Patterson.


The roster is subject to change.

Tickets start at $20 for a box seat and $50 for a VIP ticket, which includes a gift and post-game picnic.

A pregame on-field baseball clinic will start at noon. The clinic is available through a purchase of a box-seat ticket at $75 or a VIP ticket at $105. Space is limited.
