Five teams from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) have been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as Division III Women’s All-Academic Teams for 2025. The announcement, made by the ITA on July 23, also highlighted 52 student-athletes from CCIW schools who earned a place on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list.
To qualify as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.00 scale during the academic year and be listed on their institution's eligibility form. For programs to receive All-Academic Team honors, they need a team GPA of at least 3.2, with all student-athletes included in the calculation and all varsity letter winners factored into the cumulative team GPA.
The CCIW teams named as All-Academic Teams are Augustana, Carroll, Carthage, North Central, and Wheaton.
Student-athletes recognized from Augustana include Kassidy Anderson, Hannah Colbert, Grace Evers, Natasha Gauerke, Maddy Harned, Anna-Maria Huebel, Mikayla Kelly, Ava Lannen, Colleen Larry, Maitreyi Shrikhande, and Hattie Timerman. From Carroll: Makayla Counsell, Sarah Faltis, Jenna Mohler, Laurel Nelson, Addison Olson, Katherine Trifilio, and Rachel Winters were honored.
Carthage had Maddie Berglund, Isabella Gentz, Natalie Hermann, Addison Hunter, Larissa Ishikawa, Holly Kaiser, Maddie Kearney, Xingchen Liu, Niki Manojlovic, Sasha Manojlovic, Giovanna Mendes, Greta Peterson, Ava Phillips, Victoria Rizzo, Anni Tieu, Brookelyn Velmont and Marie Weis named as scholar-athletes.
Illinois Wesleyan was represented by Kate Christian and Amber Ehrlich. North Central’s honorees include Ainara Casado Bedillo, Sophia Drozd , Liveta Ezerkis , Anais Gerard , Kate Herlihy , Kayla McSweeney , and Abigail Penados . Wheaton’s recipients are Lydia Adams , Elizabeth Dieter , Madeline Gentry , Kiana Giunta , Janet Kondo , Mariclare O’Gorman , Carolina O’Leary and Alexandra Wachs .
In total across Division III women's tennis this year there were 1,269 student-athletes named as ITA Scholar-Athletes and 165 programs that earned All-Academic Team status.
"The list included five teams and 52 student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW)," according to the official release.
