Seven CCIW baseball teams honored with ABCA academic excellence award

Seven baseball teams from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) have received the 2024-25 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.

The ABCA award is given to member teams across high school and collegiate baseball that maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale during the academic year. For the 2024-25 cycle, more than 440 college programs were recognized for their academic performance, among nearly 750 teams nationwide.

Coaches could nominate their teams for this honor after the spring semester ended and before the July 18 deadline.

The CCIW programs earning the award this year are Augustana, Carroll, Illinois Wesleyan, Millikin, North Central, North Park, and Wheaton.
