Tryouts for the Glenbard West High School girls' tennis team will begin Wednesday, Aug. 10.
Players will be placed on teams according to their ability levels, and need to attend the first day of tryouts in what they believe is their appropriate levels. Players at the JV2 level are working on basic skills and strategies, and are either in their first years at the school or played JV2 the previous year. Players at the JV1 level are looking for a more-competitive level than JV2, while varsity players are playing at an advanced level.
The first day of tryouts for JV1 and JV2 levels is 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 10 at Memorial Park and go through Saturday, Aug. 20. The Saturday tryout schedule is 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Aug. 13 and Aug. 20.
Varsity tryouts begin with a session from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at the ballpark and go through Friday, Aug. 19, including a session starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Memorial Park.
Varsity practices during the school year start Aug. 22.
Those interested must register online at GlenbardWestHS.org or in person with the school's athletic department by Aug. 10, and have an up-to-date physical.
