The Bloomingdale Athletic Club and Lake Park Football are hosting the 2016 Lake Park Lancer Football Camp from July 18-21.
The focus of the camp will be on teaching the fun of playing football while also emphasizing the correct way to play the game, whether it is flag or tackle football. Each night will focus on a separate skill, starting with offense, then defense, special teams and culminating with a night of review and competition. Players will be split up according to age.
Running the camp will be primarily members of the Lake Park Football staff and Lancer football players. Bloomingdale Athletic Club staff will offer organizational help.
The camp is open to boys and girls entering kindergarten to eighth grade in the fall. It will run daily, Monday through Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. Attendees should wear a T-shirt, athletic shorts, football cleats or gym shoes. They should also bring something to drink during breaks.
Held in the football stadium at Lake Park's West Campus (500 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Roselle), the camp will use both the stadium field and the adjacent fields behind it, if necessary. Parents are invited to stay and watch the camp from the stands.
Registration must be completed online at www.bloomingdalebears.com. The cost is $50. Any questions can be sent to email@example.com.
