With the current update to its long-term strategic plan now complete, the City of St. Charles is now ready to reveal its vision to the public.
In October 2014, the city’s leaders began refreshing the previous strategic plan, which was executed from 2008-2014. The new version will be presented during the next Government Operations Committee meeting on Tuesday, immediately after the 7 p.m. City Council meeting, in the Council Chambers, 2 East Main St.
The plan, which identifies needs, goals, priorities and an action plan for the future of St. Charles, was developed by research firm Sikich LLP with input from government leaders and community stakeholders. It includes data collected from the 2013 Resident Priority Survey, as well as information garnered from a variety of interviews, focus groups and community workshops.
“We would like to thank all who volunteered their time to be a part of the city’s strategic planning process,” St. Charles City Administrator Mark Koenen said. “We received useful feedback from a variety of individuals regarding the city’s past performance and potential future initiatives. We appreciate the time and effort of all who participated in the strategic planning events to help shape our community’s future.”
