The village of Lombard, Illinois through the Lombard Pride Committee recently issued a request for proposal (RFP) from local nonprofits to plan and operate a future villagewide summer community event or festival.
The village intends to identify and enter into a contract with one or more qualified nonprofits to provide event and festival services on a multi-year basis.
The Lombard Pride Committee was formed in May to help advise the village board of trustees on matters concerning local special events, and to evaluate the potential for future events and festivals within the community. Before issuing the RFP, the Lombard Pride Committee completed a survey of other area local special events and festivals, and issued a community group interest survey gauging the local interest of community nonprofits in hosting or collaborating to organize a future summer special event or festival.
Nonprofit groups should submit their event proposals by Sept. 30. The village will host a meeting in mid-September to review the RFP and answer any questions groups might have in completing their proposal.
The special event RFP can be found on the village website at www.villageoflombard.org.
