EGTV takes home two awards at video festival

Elkgrove

Elk Grove Television (EGTV) recently won awards in two categories at the Best of the Midwest Video Fest 2015.

The competition, hosted by Wisconsin Community Media (WCM), entertained 200 entries from community media centers in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota and Minnesota.

The festival is held to recognize the work of community producers, show what is being produced in community media, help community media centers in the Midwest publicize themselves and provide constructive feedback.

The EGTV documentary series "The Exceptional Journey" was granted an award for excellence in the documentary category for its look at the development of Elk Grove Village in the 1970s.

"I simply enjoy the opportunity to be able to share local history with Elk Grove Village residents," Debbie Dennison, the program producer, said. "To have the show honored by my Midwestern peers is just the icing on the cake in producing this show."

Also, EGTV’s children’s comedy series "The New Ralph the Robot Show" won an achievement award in the entertainment category for an episode called "The Award."

"I am happy and proud that Ralph got his reward," Ross Rowe, program producer, said. "Many thanks to Debbi [Dennison] and Marc [Jolley] and all the people who helped make this show possible, and thanks to WCM for this wonderful award."

Both programs can be viewed on EGTV’s website at www.eg-tv.org.
