Cicero man charged after high-speed chase involving stolen vehicle
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis announced that the Court has denied the State’s motion to detain pre-trial a Cicero man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen motor vehicle. Javier Barajas, 22, of the 2100 block of S. 57th Avenue, appeared at First Appearance Court yesterday charged with one count of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle (Class 1 Felony) and one count of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding (Class 4 Felony).

Former Glendale Heights man sentenced to prison for sexual assault and home invasion
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced today that Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh has sentenced Anthony Lane, 55, formerly of Glendale Heights, to fifty-eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for breaking into an elderly woman’s home and sexually assaulting her in November 2021. West Chicago man denied pre-trial release on cocaine charges
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Naperville Chief of Police Jason Arres announced today that Judge Joshua Dieden granted the State’s motion to detain pre-trial a West Chicago man accused of selling cocaine to a Naperville undercover officer. Jeremy Soto, 29, of the 300 block of Ann Street, appeared at First Appearance Court this morning charged with three counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance - Cocaine (2 Class X Felonies and 1 Class 1 Felony) and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance - Cocaine (Class 1 Felony).
