  • Carol Stream man sentenced to seven years for shooting at ex-girlfriend's vehicle

    DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced today that a former Carol Stream man accused of firing a handgun at a vehicle occupied by his ex-girlfriend and another individual has been sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Dejonte Parks, 27 (d.o.b. 4/2/1997), formerly of the 200 block of E. St. Charles Road, appeared at his sentencing hearing this morning in front of Judge Daniel Guerin, who handed down the sentence.   • Chicago man detained pre-trial for alleged thefts while on probation

    A Chicago man, currently on probation for two separate cases, has been detained pre-trial following accusations of fleeing from police after allegedly stealing more than $300 worth of alcohol from a Clarendon Hills Jewel grocery store. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis announced that Judge Bryan Chapman granted the State’s motion to detain Michael Howard, 43, of the 4800 block of Washington Boulevard.

    A Louisiana man, Aiden Coburn-Dishler, has been denied pre-trial release after being accused of leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle while illegally possessing a loaded handgun. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis announced that Judge Joshua Dieden granted the motion to detain Coburn-Dishler.

  • Chicago man sentenced to 31 years for armed Darien home invasion

    DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced that late yesterday afternoon Judge Joseph Bugos sentenced Joseph Covington, 28, formerly of Chicago, to thirty-one years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. This follows Covington's guilty plea to one count of Home Invasion (Class X Felony) on April 3, 2024. At his appearance in Bond Court, Judge Brian Telander ordered he be held without bond. He has remained in custody at the DuPage County Jail.

    DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin and Darien Chief of Police Greg Thomas announced today that Judge Leah Bendik has granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for a Berkeley man charged with supplying a fatal dose of illegal narcotics to Michael Rice of Darien. Willie Woodgett, 37, of the 1400 block of Morris Avenue, appeared in First Appearance Court this morning charged with one count of Drug Induced Homicide, a Class X Felony. On July 24, 2024, DuPage County Judge Bendik issued an arrest warrant for Woodgett. He was taken into custody on July 30, 2024.
