Maureen Harty Executive Director | College Conference Of Wisconsin And Illinois
Elmhurst College wrestler Viola Pianetto has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week. Pianetto earned this recognition after an undefeated performance in three dual matches, contributing to two team victories for the Bluejays.
Competing at 138 pounds last Sunday in Plymouth, Wisconsin, Pianetto finished with a 3-0 record. She began her day by pinning Lakeland’s Katerina Conrad in under two minutes. In her second match, she secured an 8-0 decision over Jillian Giller from Illinois Wesleyan. Pianetto completed her sweep with a 5-2 win against Margaret Zuber of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Pianetto’s performance was instrumental in Elmhurst securing wins over both Lakeland and Illinois Wesleyan. Her season record now stands at 6-1.
The CCIW also recognized Riley Rayome from North Central as the Women’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week for November 4.
