Carthage’s Grace Cord named CCIW women’s basketball student-athlete of the week

Carthage College junior forward Grace Cord has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. The announcement was made on Tuesday.

Cord played a key role in Carthage's 65-46 win against Concordia Wisconsin last Saturday. She scored 20 points, making nine out of thirteen shots, and achieved a shooting percentage of .692. In addition to her scoring, Cord collected eight rebounds, blocked two shots, and did not commit any turnovers during her 27 minutes on the court.

This performance contributed to Carthage's season-opening victory.
