Augustana College’s Michael Garland and Carthage College’s Carson Sehy have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances in recent competitions.

Garland earned the swimming honor after strong showings at two events. At Augustana’s dual meet against Monmouth, he won the 100-yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 59.81 seconds and helped his team win the 200 medley relay. He continued his performance at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational by winning all four of his events, including victories in the individual medley relay, 200 medley relay, 3x100 breaststroke relay, and an individual win in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:15.27.

Sehy was recognized for diving following his efforts over the weekend against Lake Forest and Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). The senior achieved a personal record on the 1-meter board with a score of 168.85 and also posted a score of 159.45 on the 3-meter board.

The CCIW also recognized Lucas Rettig from Augustana as swimmer of the week on October 22, and Taydin Murphy from Carthage as diver of the week on that date.

"NAPERVILLE — A pair of standout performances in the pool and on the boards highlighted this week’s College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week."
