State Senator Seth Lewis has announced that school libraries in Illinois' 24th Senate District are set to receive a total of $126,570.71 through state library grants. The funding is allocated to multiple school districts to enhance library resources and services.
The grants will be distributed as follows within the district:

- Arlington Heights Township High School District 214 receives $10,583.72.
- Benjamin School District 25 receives $850.00.
- Bloomingdale School District 13 receives $1,097.40.
- Community Consolidated School District 93 receives $2,726.69.
- Community Consolidated School District 59 receives $4,578.99.
- Community High School District 94 receives $1,733.72.
- Community Unit School District 200 receives $9,513.75.
- DuPage High School District 88 receives $3,253.26.
- Fenton Community High School District 100 receives $1,170.86.
- Glen Ellyn School District 41 receives $2,790.41.
- Glenbard Township High School District 87 receives $6,607.41.
- Itasca School District 10 receives $850.00.
- Keeneyville Elementary School District 20 receives $1,102.71.
- Lake Park High School District 108 receives $2,216.04.

Senator Lewis emphasized the importance of providing resources to aid students' educational journeys, stating, "When we invest in books and technology at our school libraries, we are providing a springboard to knowledge and success for students." He expressed gratitude towards the Secretary of State, saying, "I appreciate the Secretary of State’s willingness to continually bring meaningful financial support to our school libraries."
The grants, calculated at $0.885 per student, will facilitate the acquisition of library books, e-books, audiobooks, periodicals, multilingual materials, and technology. This allocation aims to support the diverse needs of students in the district.
Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias highlighted the role of libraries in education, saying, "Illinois students deserve to have access to quality library resources, including learning materials, books and online services at our public schools. Libraries serve as places of knowledge, learning and discovery and this funding will help equip them to educate and inspire our future generations."
