Tess Boyer, a sophomore swimmer from Wheaton, concluded her season at the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, N.C. Boyer participated in the women's 200-yard butterfly event on Friday, finishing 24th out of 41 swimmers in the preliminaries. This marks her first appearance at the national championships.

Boyer has already achieved significant milestones this season. She is the first Wheaton women's swimmer in six years to compete at the NCAA meet and was the only female swimming student-athlete from the CCIW to participate at Nationals this year. On Thursday, she set a new conference record in the women's 400-yard IM and earned honorable mention All-America recognition.

In today's competition, Boyer entered as a two-time reigning conference champion in her event. Her seed time of 2:04.53 ranks second-fastest in program history behind former All-American Kirsty Nitz's mark of 1:59.62 from 2015. Although Boyer did not match her season-high time, she improved her seeding placement from 27th to 24th after posting a time of 2:05.62.

Following her debut on this major stage, Boyer will join her Thunder teammates for offseason training and reflect on her successful second year while preparing for future competitions.
