Rep. Sean Casten, who represents Illinois' 6th district in the U.S. Congress, has been active on social media sharing his perspectives on various political issues. His recent posts address topics ranging from the January 6th insurrection to actions taken by the Trump administration affecting local communities.

On January 28, 2025, Rep. Sean Casten commented on statements made by JD Vance regarding the January 6th insurrectionists. He noted that while Vance said those who attacked law enforcement should not be pardoned, "on his first day in office, Trump pardoned every single rioter, including those who violently assaulted police officers."

In another tweet from the same date, Rep. Casten addressed claims made by the Trump campaign about Project 2025. He highlighted an apparent contradiction: "The Trump campaign said time and again they weren’t connected to Project 2025." However, he pointed out that "Trump nominated its co-author to be the Director of the Office of Management and Budget," which is responsible for funding decisions.

Additionally, Rep. Casten shared concerns from a local homeless shelter impacted by administrative actions under Trump's leadership. He stated that "my office heard today from a local homeless shelter that they received notice from the Trump Admin to enter anything outstanding into their payment portal by 5 pm today." Unfortunately, they were locked out before this deadline, potentially affecting housing for over 200 individuals in their community.
