Foster remarked on November 21, 2024: "I am relieved that Matt Gaetz won't be the next Attorney General, since anyone holding that position must not be vulnerable to coercion or blackmail. And, ethical and legal issues aside, it was a position he wasn’t remotely qualified for."
Continuing his comments on the same date regarding Gaetz's qualifications and ethical considerations, Foster emphasized transparency in governmental ethics investigations. He wrote: "It remains important that the Ethics Committee report be released to the American people in case ex-Rep. Gaetz pursues any other position of high public trust."
