Representative Sean Casten, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Illinois’ 6th district, shared several important updates through his social media account on November 20, 2024. The topics covered ranged from education support to transgender rights and congressional ethics.

On November 20, 2024, Casten highlighted "Today is Education Support Professionals Day. Last year, I was proud to reintroduce the Education Support Professionals and School Support Staff Family Leave Act, which would help expand the FMLA and ensure it covers education support professionals." This act aims to extend family leave benefits to those working in educational support roles.

Later that day, Casten acknowledged Transgender Day of Remembrance with a post stating "During Transgender Day of Remembrance, we remember victims and survivors of anti-transgender hate crimes and mourn those we’ve lost to violence. Today and every day, we must fight for a world where people can live as their authentic selves without fear of violence." His message underscored the importance of creating a safe environment for all individuals regardless of gender identity.

In another post on the same day, Casten addressed issues within Congress related to an ongoing investigation by stating "Given reports that the Ethics Committee will not release the Gaetz report today, I will shortly introduce a privileged resolution to require a vote by the full House of Representatives on its release." This action reflects his commitment to transparency within governmental proceedings.
