Rep. Sean Casten, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 6th district, has recently shared a series of tweets expressing his concerns about Chris Wright and his nomination as Secretary of Energy. Casten, who succeeded Peter Roskam in 2019, has been vocal on issues related to climate change and energy policy.

On November 17, 2024, Rep. Casten tweeted his critique of Chris Wright, stating that "Chris Wright is a climate denier who prioritizes the wants of energy producers over the needs of American consumers."

Later that day, Casten reiterated his concerns about Wright's nomination by tweeting that "Chris Wright's willingness to deny science is alarming. To nominate him as Secretary of Energy is to fulfill the dreams of every fossil fuel company that hopes to boost its profits by raising energy costs for Americans."

In addition to his comments on energy policy, Rep. Casten also informed his followers about an alternative social media presence on Blue Sky with a tweet: "Find me on Blue Sky at @RepCasten.bsky.social."
