The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has released its updated multi-year transportation improvement plan. State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) announced that $180,273,000 in IDOT funds will be allocated to projects in the 24th Senate District. Of this total, $154,159 is designated for state highway improvements within the district, and $26,114,000 is set aside for local highway enhancements. For the current fiscal year alone, $71.110 million is earmarked for various projects.

"Once again, the 24th District is receiving a large share of transportation improvement dollars in the IDOT Multi-Year Plan," said Lewis. "These projects are vital to maintaining safe roads for motorists and other travelers and improving the integrity of our aging bridges."

The plan outlines a total of 29 projects covering 28.55 miles of state highways and an additional 15 projects spanning 3.81 miles of local highways in the area. The list includes projects scheduled from Fiscal Year 2025-2030, with those planned for the current fiscal year highlighted in red.
