State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro has announced the allocation of grants for park districts within the 48th House District. The grants are part of the 2024 Open Space Land Acquisition & Development (OSLAD) program, administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The announcement comes as a significant investment in the enhancement of local parks and recreational facilities.

Sanalitro expressed her enthusiasm for the grants, recognizing the importance of parks in bringing communities together. She stated, "Local parks are places where families and neighborhoods come together and connect, so I am proud to see these funds being used to enhance the health and well-being of our communities. These awards demonstrate significant investment in our park districts and speak to our commitment to enhance the quality of life for every resident across the State."

The 2024 OSLAD grants have been awarded to the following park districts and municipalities within Representative Sanalitro's district:

- Addison Park District: $600,000

- Bensenville Park District: $570,100

- Bloomingdale Township: $150,000

- Roselle Park District: $600,000

- Village of Itasca: $600,000

These funds will play a vital role in the development and enhancement of local parks and recreational facilities. They will ensure that these spaces remain vibrant and accessible for community gatherings, sports activities, leisure, and environmental appreciation.

The OSLAD program has been instrumental in providing financial assistance to local government agencies for the acquisition and development of land for public parks and open spaces. It has played a significant role in preserving and expanding green spaces across the state.

Representative Sanalitro remains dedicated to advocating for resources that support and uplift her communities. These grants are just one of the many ways she is working to ensure a bright future for her region of Illinois.
