State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) has announced the launch of his second annual "Valentines for Seniors" card drive in Illinois. The initiative aims to bring joy and show appreciation to seniors in assisted living centers, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities across the 24th Senate District during the week of Valentine's Day.

Senator Lewis is encouraging students from public and private schools, church groups, scouting organizations, and other community groups to create homemade cards and drawings for the seniors. The cards will serve as a reminder that they are valued members of the community.

"Seniors are a special part of our community, and this card drive will show them they are appreciated, that we're thinking of them, and that we value them," said Senator Lewis. "It just takes a few minutes to make a card or write an encouraging note, and that small gesture will make a big difference to our area's seniors."

Cards, poems, and other well-wishes can be dropped off at Senator Lewis' Carol Stream office or sent through his Bartlett PO Box. The collection period will run from now until February 5. The address for the district office is 962 W Army Trail Road, and the mailing address is PO Box 8547, Bartlett, IL, 60103-8547. Those dropping off cards in person can place them in the valentine mailbox outside of the office.

Last year's card drive surpassed expectations, and Senator Lewis is hopeful for even greater participation this year. He believes that with the community's help, they can bring a great deal of joy to seniors in assisted living and nursing home settings throughout the 24th District.
