Wheaton City Council cancels July 13 planning session due to lack of business
The Wheaton City Council announced on July 10 that its planning session scheduled for Monday, July 13, 2026, has been cancelled due to a lack of business. The cancellation was communicated in accordance with state statutes and affects only the planning session.
Andrea Rosedale, City Clerk, confirmed the cancellation in an official notice addressed to the Wheaton City Hall Reporter. "THE WHEATON CITY COUNCIL PLANNING SESSION SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, JULY 13, 2026, HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF BUSINESS," Rosedale said.
Despite the cancellation of the planning session, city officials clarified that a public hearing will still take place as planned on Monday, July 13. The hearing concerns ZA #26-18/ Pre-Annexation/ 25W021 Geneva Road/ Andersen.
Regular meetings for various Boards, Commissions, and Committees of Wheaton City Government are unaffected by this change and will proceed as scheduled.
The city clerk's office submitted this notification to ensure compliance with applicable state statutes regarding meeting notices.
