Anthony Mothershed, 19, has been arrested in connection to the mass shooting that took place at a Juneteenth celebration in Willowbrook in June 2023. The shooting occurred at a strip mall parking lot and resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries.

According to the Office of DuPage County Sheriff, Mothershed is accused of firing a handgun at the celebration. The investigation led by the sheriff's office alleges that Mothershed, along with a group of individuals, was standing outside the Legacy Beauty Supply when he started shooting a Kahr Arms CW45 .45 caliber pistol towards others at the event.

The arrest of Mothershed comes after a report from DuPage Policy Journal on October 3, which provided details of the police reports surrounding the mass shooting. The reports revealed that multiple victims had reported seeing three males wearing black ski masks and hoodies near the scene.
