City of Elmhurst City Council met May 15

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

1. Executive Session - Mayor Levin called Executive Session to order at 7:04pm

1.1 Executive Session for the Purpose of Discussing: Pending and Probable Litigation, pursuant to the Open Meetings Act 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11)

Roll Call

Present: Marti Deuter, Jacob Hill, Karen Sienko, Chris Jensen, Michael Bram, Brian Cahill, Noel Talluto, James Nudera, Emily Bastedo, Guido Nardini, Mike Brennan, and Rex Irby

Absent: Jennifer Veremis and Tina Park

12 Present, 2 Absent

Also Present: City Treasurer Curran, City Attorney Storino, City Attorney Acker, and City Manager Grabowski

 Alderman Brennan moved to convene into executive session.  Alderman Nardini seconded.

Ayes:  Marti Deuter, Jacob Hill, Karen Sienko, Chris Jensen, Michael Bram, Brian Cahill, Noel Talluto, James Nudera, Emily Bastedo, Guido Nardini, Mike Brennan, and Rex Irby

Nays: None

12 Ayes, 0 Nays, 2 Absent

2. Call to Order - Mayor Levin called the regular meeting of city council to order at 7:41pm.

2.1 Pledge of Allegiance-Cub Scout Pack 78

2.2 Roll Call-Ward 1

Present: Marti Deuter, Jacob Hill, Karen Sienko, Chris Jensen, Michael Bram, Brian Cahill, Noel Talluto, James Nudera, Emily Bastedo, Guido Nardini, Mike Brennan, and Rex Irby

Also Present: City Treasurer Curran, City Attorney Storino, City Attorney Acker, City Manager Grabowski, Finance Director Coyle, Public Works Director Balicki, Police Chief McLean, and IT Director Kravets

2.3 Administer the Oath of Office - Mayor Levin delivered the Oath of Office to Detective Nicholas Waldenmeyer to the Rank of Police Sergeant.

Alderman Jensen moved to accept the consent agenda in its entirety.  Alderman Talluto seconded.

8. Reports and Recommendations of Appointed and Elected Officials

Mayor Levin - Bike Safety Day is Sunday May 21st beginning at Safety Town 9am-noon.  Explore Elmhurst Trolley Program begins June 2nd.

City Manager Grabowski - City Manager thanked Public Works Director Stan Balicki and the citizens that participated. Dunkin Donuts Cop on Top is Friday, May 19th 5am-noon

9. Ordinance

9.1 O-21-2023 - An Ordinance Approving and Authorizing the Execution of a Non-Exclusive License Agreement by and Between the York Vallette Business Association and the City of Elmhurst, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois (See Item 7.6)

Alderman Brennan moved to accept the ordinance.  Alderman Hill seconded.  Alderman Brennan spoke in support of the ordinance requesting council to suspend the rules for timing purposes as the first market is June 7th.

Ayes:  Marti Deuter, Jacob Hill, Karen Sienko, Chris Jensen, Michael Bram, Brian Cahill, Noel Talluto, James Nudera, Emily Bastedo, Guido Nardini, Mike Brennan, and Rex Irby

10. Other Business

Alderman Hill announced the Memorial Day Parade in Elmhurst on Monday, May 29th beginning at 9:30am

11. Adjournment - Alderman Cahill moved to adjourn the meeting.  Alderman Bram seconded.  A voice vote was taken. Motion passed unanimously.

Meeting adjourned at 8:06pm
