Managing Affairs From Afar

Managing Affairs From Afar: Illinois Civil War Soldiers Write Home will be hosted by the Hinsdale Historical Society from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 10. The lecture will be led by Mark Flotow, an independent researcher and the author and editor of "In Their Letters, in Their Words: Illinois Civil War Soldiers Write Home," which was the 2020 winner of the Illinois State Historical Society's "Book of the Year" award.

All Abilities Animal Friends Camp 

The Hinsdale Humane Society will host the All Abilities Animal Friends Camp every other Friday beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 16. Campers can sign up for any combination of the five available programs depending on their schedule, with each session containing original content. Children with developmental and cognitive impairments are the target audience for the camp and will be given priority regarding available spots. Able-bodied and -minded children can fill any open positions. The variety of activities available to campers will encourage them to move around, use their imaginations and express their emotions.
