Alderman Hill moved to accept the consent agenda minus items 6.21 and 6.10.  Alderman Cahill seconded.

6.10 Alderman Deuter moved to acccept the report. Alderman Hill seconded.  Alderman Nudera spoke in support of the report and emphasizes the third paragraph which states fully vetted to stay in guidelines.

6.21 Alderman Polomsky moved to accept the ordinance. Alderman Mulliner seconded.  Alderman Honquest does not support the ordinance and encourages future development on the property.  Alderman Brennan does not support the ordinance like the report and will be voting no.

7. Reports and Recommendations of Appointed and Elected Officials

Mayor Levin - The Mayor announced the Senior Safety Symposium on April 26th at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 10am-1pm.  Free, reservation required.  Public Works Citizen Academy sign up currently on city website. Congratulations to York Hockey for playing in state last weekend and finishing second.  Reminder that political signs in parkways aren't allowed.

City Manager Grabowski - City stickers are on sale and must be on vehicles by May 1.  Spring clean up dates are 4/22 for Wednesdays, 4/29 for Thursdays, and 5/8 for Fridays.

8. Committee Reports

8.1 Report - Referral: Potential Sidewalk Policy Revision (NE Elmhurst Sidewalk)

 PW Chairman Brennan summarized the proposed plan to install sidewalks in NE Elmhurst. He described the existing sidewalk construction policy as a 50% cost share between the City and residents.  As part of the discussion at the committee level the PW Committee agreed with the current sidewalk construction policy and recommends utilizing grants and TIF funding for future stand alone sidewalk projects.

Staff  and committee initiated a sidewalk survey to help provide resident feedback.   

The City Council discussion ensued on this Potential Sidewalk Policy Revision Report stating that the purpose was to continue the ongoing efforts to keep individuals safe, give accessibility to cyclists and pedestrians of all ages and to create a safe route for Elmhurst children to walk and ride to school.  

Alderman Brennan moved to accept the report.  Alderman Honquest seconded.

Alderman Veremis stated that last Thursday 3/16 the City of Elmhurst hosted a Traffic Study Open House and that she looks forward to the final project and the continued effort in town for public safety. 

The only committee that will be meeting on 3/27 is the Finance Committee.

Alderman Honquest announced: 

World Down Syndrome Day 3/21

Special Olympics Boys Basketball went to State for the second year in a row.

Their is a desperate need for people to care for others and volunteer and giving back.

Alderwomen Tina Park announced:

York JV Hockey Team won the State Championship for the first time.

12. Adjournment - Alderman Cahill moved to adjourn the meeting.  Alderman Honquest seconded.  A voice vote was taken.  Motion passed unanimously.
