Leong to host public safety & SAFE-T Act Zoom discussion for DuPage residents

House Republican Majority has issued the following press release:

Naperville, IL- Announcing he is hosting a FREE public safety & SAFE-T Act panel discussion via Zoom, Naperville City Councilman and candidate for State Representative Paul Leong invited the community to attend the Zoom discussion with the panel of experts.

“I am grateful to bring together local experts like Sheriff James Mendrick and House Republican Leader Jim Durkin to provide DuPage residents the opportunity to hear about current issues in public safety, as well as receive information about the SAFE-T Act from those tasked with implementing these mandates locally,” said Leong. “No doubt DuPage residents are worried about their safety amidst spiraling crime. Our community should hear directly from the experts and get firsthand information to understand the changes headed our way from Springfield.”

The event will be on Tuesday, October 25 from 7:00-8:30 pm via Zoom. The event is FREE to attend and provided as a public service. RSVP is required at zjdupage@gmail.com. Registrants will receive a follow-up e-mail with a secured Zoom link.

About Paul Leong: 

Paul Leong currently works for HCSC/Blue Cross Blue Shield and has worked in a variety of professional roles in finance, technology, health care, and education. Paul has taught at Ray Chinese School in Lisle on weekends for the last 10 years. In 2017, Paul won a seat on the Naperville Community Unit School District 203 board, becoming the first Chinese American elected to any office in Naperville. During his tenure, the board lowered taxes four years in a row, maintained exceptional academic standards, reduced the debt levy to zero, and instituted a property tax rebate for the first time in their history. He ran for and won a seat on the Naperville City Council four years later. Paul decided to run for state representative to bring the same principles making Naperville successful to Springfield. Paul lives in Naperville with his wife, Arista Wang, and their two children.
