Wheaton Police Department releases weekly arrest and crime report for late June

The Wheaton Police Department released its weekly arrests and crime report for the period of June 22 to June 28, according to a July 13 statement.

During this week, several individuals were arrested on various charges. Hei Pum, age 41, of Wheaton was arrested at his residence on East Elm Street on June 28 at 10:24 p.m. for domestic battery and was taken to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. Janquil T. Collins, age 40, of Joliet was arrested near Adare Drive and Roosevelt Road on June 26 at 2:28 a.m. for driving under the influence and transportation of open alcohol by driver; Collins received a notice to appear.

Other arrests included Blain M. Gullum, age 43, of Wheaton for possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Axell E. Fuentes Blandon, age 31, of Chicago for an outstanding warrant as well as driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle; Francisco Ventura Salmeron, age 37, also faced DUI-related charges; Darius J. Glaze from DeKalb was charged with warrant violations along with drug offenses; Shawana S. Smith from Wheaton was charged with retail theft; Ekaterina Maiorova from Mundelein faced charges including retail theft and obstructing identification.

The department also reported several incidents during this period: On June 23 at Target (601 S County Farm Rd.), an unknown male took multiple items without paying; identity theft occurred when someone rented a car using another person's information but did not return it in early June; and a gold necklace was stolen between June 19 at Vasa (501 S County Farm Rd.).

The public is reminded that all complaints contain only charges and are not proof of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court proceedings.
