Glen Ellyn District 41 School board member Jason Loebach, an advocate of mandatory student masking of children in the district's classrooms, posted a mask-less selfie on social media this week.

That's as Loebach and the District 41 board refused to recognize a state court order declaring Gov. Pritzker's statewide mask mandate "null and void," keeping students in masks while hundreds of districts across the state-- including many in DuPage County-- go "mask-optional."

"Try the dark much at Phoex(sic) Coffee House served by my favorite batista (sic), Ellie Martin," he wrote on Facebook.

Just opened last week Phoenix Coffee House is in Naperville. Martin is the assistant manager.

At a District 41 meeting last August, Loebach said he believed masks were preventing COVID-19 from spreading inside of schools, but that outside of school, mask-less children were spreading it.

"I don't think that masks are going to be a detriment to our kids' education," Loebach said, in voting 'yes' on a proposal for 'universal masking."

Loebach, 45, of Glen Ellyn is a lawyer with Chitkowski Law Offices in Lisle.
